Certified in the Matheson Functional Capacity Evaluation System
LITTLE FALLS – Little Falls Hospital’s Rehabilitation team staff members Sue McSweeney-Herman and Julie Bush are certified in the Matheson Functional Capacity Evaluation System. A Functional Capacity Evaluation (FCE) is a test which uses a battery of well researched tools and questionnaires that evaluate a workers physical performance and subjective reports. The goal of an FCE is durable case resolution. An FCE is useful for determining the ability of an employee to return to work or determining next step solutions. The FCE can answer several questions often asked by doctors, case managers, and attorneys such as:
- Did the client provide full physical effort during testing?
- Are the client’s subjective reports reliable?
- Can the client return to work full time? If not, how many hours?
- What is the client’s current tolerance for lifting?
Further information is available by contacting the Little Falls Rehabilitation Department at (315) 823-5360.
